SmashBurger

Smash Burger

A few nights ago, we decided to try out this new burger joint in town called SmashBurger. I’m not sure what was so appealing about it other than being the newest joint in town. After trying a classic smash burger, I’m sorry to say that the burger really isn’t all the impressive. Both Diane and I thought it lacked flavor and for a minimum price of $5 (just the burger–no fries/drink included), it’s not worth the fanfare. It’s not “the best burger you have ever tasted” as they claim, but rather an pretty ordinary Angus burger. I did enjoy the Haagen-Daz milkshake somewhat, though. If you’re still interested, feel free to give it a shot, but don’t expect it to be amazing. 🙂 On the plus side, the ingredients did taste pretty fresh.

My Fav Snack

Recently, Diane tried this great snack out while meandering through Costco. On our next trip, we decided to pick some up. I love it! I highly recommend it to everybody. It’s called Ultimate Crunch by Mrs. Mays.

Post-Christmas Fun

After Christmas, we call got attacked with the flu. Nobody was spared. It was a rough couple of days, but we still managed to have fun.

Diane’s coleslaw dog was better

When I’m home, I love taking walks around the lake. Boy, do I sound like an old person nowadays. Oh yeah, we also went to Pink’s Hot Dog stand in Hollywood. We waited at least 45 minutes in line and the food was NO GOOD! Seriously, I will never go back. The Food Network recommendation was a total let down for me. Diane enjoyed her dog, but I sure didn’t.

Fallen Christmas Tree

Our poor tree!

Yes, can you believe it? We came home from LA and this is what the living looked like. Our poor tree lay prostrate on the ground. Fortunately, few ornaments were lost and the piano wasn’t hit. Anyway, that’s our vacation in a nutshell!

Christmas Recap

OK, so we’ve been terrible about blogging for the past two months. Things got busy and we’ve been spending a lot of time house hunting. Anyway, here’s a 30-second recap of our Christmas vacation in SoCal.

We had a great time celebrating Christmas and once the rainy weather left (Christmas Day), we hit the beaches: Laguna, Newport, and Santa Monica.

Warning: a Bike Napper on the Loose

schwinn-bikes

A few weeks ago, just before Christmas, after returning home from a shopping trip, I noticed that the bike rack in our garage was looking a little sparse. “Our bikes! Where are our bikes?!” I asked Fernando, after having a crazy thought that he had hidden them somewhere. We stared at each other in disbelief. Our bikes had been stolen! They had been locked up on the bike rack on the inside of our useless security gate (useless because it was open all week due to a malfunction), which begs the question: what’s more inviting to intruders, a gate that’s open,  or no security gate at all? There might as well have been a sign saying: “His and Her Bikes: recently purchased 6 months ago, tuned up and ready to be placed under your Christmas tree”. Yep, Jack and Jill won’t even know that they aren’t new.

The year 2008 was the year of graduation, marriage, moving, and robbery. This being the second time this year Fernando and I were violated. However we’re a little more upset this time around than when our cars got broken into, back in Provo.

Thieves beware, if we see you riding on the street, we will hit you with our car.
